The BCSA and Tata Steel have commissioned AECOM to lead a £1million pound, three-year development project to generate fully detailed and costed solutions for five building types to meet the emissions reduction targets set out by government towards the ultimate target of zero carbon by 2019.
AECOM, the global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets; including transportation, facilities, environmental and energy, is project managing the Target Zero initiatives.
It is leading on the structural, operational energy and BREEAM elements of the project. AECOM will be investigating how operational energy use can be reduced through good design and specification of low and zero carbon technologies. It will also be applying BREEAM to each of the solutions and advising how Very Good, Excellent, and Outstanding BREEAM ratings can be achieved at the lowest cost.
