The SCI will support AECOM with the operational energy work packages. This involves cross checking energy efficiency modelling assumptions (thermal mass and thermal bridging) and researching innovative building envelope technologies. It will also co-ordinate with the Building Research Establishment (BRE) and Corus RD&T to ensure that the explanations are provided highlighting reasons for differences between lifecycle assessment using the CLEAR methodology and the BRE green guide ratings that will need to be relied on for the BREEAM assessments.
